Eat Food. Not Too Much. Mostly Plants. |
My health and fitness history has been a long, complicated, confusing history and I feel as if for once, I feel in control and happy about my lifestyle choices and I feel good about my body. I take very seriously the fact that your body is your instrument and since you are only given one body, it's important to take care of it. I'm still learning but I'd like to continue feeling and looking healthy, and this blog is a way for me to stay on track to do it. Also, this is pretty much strictly my food/exercise blog. I have a personal blog as well, so if you're interested just shoot me a message! :) |

It’s a vegan cookie…and this is the second day in a row I’ve had a cookie…I don’t even feel guilty. What is this madness?
I figured I’m still under my recommended caloric intake…so why not! I also worked out like mad today and had rehearsal, too.
Deliciousness.
From Monday-Friday, my gym is open 24 hours. TWENTY FOUR HOURS. So, in order to celebrate the extra time I’ll have to work out, I treated myself to a trip to the gym and a 30 minute run. In addition, there were about four people there in total, so if I ever want to lift some weights and am intimidated by the bros in the gym all the time, the night-time is the time to go! You guys have no idea how happy this makes me.
Also, if anyone wants my “myfitnesspal” account, it’s: aga1291.
I used to live off of and obsess over calorie counting. I’m not quite as strict on it anymore because I worry that it might be triggering to some bad habits I indulged in in the past…but so far so good. I just feel way out of control if I don’t log my food and caloric intake. It’s too easy not to eat enough throughout the day for me. Another fabulous thing about myfitnesspal is that it also tracks exercise, lifting reps, water intake and the nutrients you’re lacking/fulfilling. What a handy website it is.
Hope everyone is doing well! Please feel free to shoot me a message! :)

Been wanting to write this post for a little while now.. And it has to do with the misconceptions of what “healthy” really is! A lot of the times when you talk to people, and sadly sometimes here on tumblr too, you get the feeling that their definition of healthy is “low in calories”. Meaning there’s a total disregard for additives, chemicals, lack of nutrients, essential fats and amino acids and so on. Just because it’s low in calories doesn’t mean it’s healthy! Healthy is what does your body good; what it needs! And it needs (!!) good fat and carbs (amongst over things), that many seem to be forgetting about! All these no-calorie, non-fat, non sugar chemical crap that many eat/drink - do you think that they magically removed the fat and sugar? Read up on nutrition, what your body needs to (not what you think you want) eat/ drink and the right amount of it! Of course I’m forced to generalize a bit here. There is some good stuff out there too, and A LOT of people here on tumblr really know what they’re talking about! My point is that in general, people need to be less naive, and actually read up on nutrition. Corporations want to make money from you, not make you healthier.. So don’t trust everything out there! Knowledge is king!
:) That is all.

…but in a good way?
Fat makes you bulky, muscle makes you lean. Want a killer body? LIFT WEIGHTS!
